Hello All;

I would like to do an interesting easy dive, 70' or so, maybe the United Caribbean.... Can you recommend an OP in the Forth Lauderdale area.

Thanks

I like Parrot Island Scuba, especially if price is a factor. I think he's still only $45.
If you want to have the best possible experience, try Avid Diver Charters or the Miss Conduct (both six-pack boats) .

The United Caribbean has some history. Her original name was Golden Venture. Here's a story of the trajedy that took place onboard: http://goldsea.com/Asiagate/604/27golden.html

You can google "golden venture chinese" and find a ton of hits. While to many she's just another little wreck in Broward County, this one is actually a bit more. :(

Then you can move over to the Ancient Mariner, which was the former USCGC Nemesis and then turned into a restaurant on the Fort Lauderdale's New River and home to an outbreak hepatistis while also sinking at the dock a couple of times.

I dove with SouthFlorida for a week last year and enjoyed them very much, especially if you get on their little boat Safari Diver. They don't use DM's (or at least didn't we I dove). You get a dive flag and they come to you when you surface. They also have pontoon cattle boats, so be aware.

American Dream in Fort Lauderdale is a great operation and not so far if you are in Miami.

Just off the 836 going East is also The Dive Stop and they are great guys! The boat goes both north into Fort Lauderdale and south into the Miami Wrecks.

I second Parrot Island and American Dream II both. Both good ops with good crews.

ok, i see that many people have posted the same question. What do you think about http://www.southfloridadiving.com and how about the United Caribbean wreck dive
I dived with S FL diving... Their small boat is good. Not a "cattle boat" - it was inexpensive, and convenient. Haven't done the United Caribbean yet, but i hear it's not that great.

United Carrib is nice ... well ... at least before it got shifted from last year's hurricanes.
I haven't been on it recently.

On a good dive with little current you -might- be able to get in both the UC and Sea Emperor as they are connected by a line of rocks, and ye might be visited by the big green moray that often travels those rocks.
