I meant to put this up the weekend before last, but I went out of town for a week with no internet connection.

The LDS I work at, along with the City of Naples put together the 2nd annual Naples Pier Clean up. We had about 50 divers, and 10-15 people top side, lifting up trash. Everyone got bags, which we promptly filled with monofilament, trash, broken fishing poles, etc. We even got a couple of derelict crab traps.

There are pictures and video attached. There are a couple shots of my partner, and some video of my partner and my bubbles (I was actualy working down there :D ).

Pretty awesome day! Got to see 2 ENORMOUS goliath grouper. One was easily 6 feet long.

Hope you guys enjoy!

I agree, I would love to do this next year!

It was a blast. I tried to see about getting more people involved, but was told they had enough people already involved, but next year would be good as I can see how much stuff collected beats this year, although from what I had heard, everyone collected more trash an stuff this year than they did last year, there was so much more to get and was no way to get it all. I made it about halfway down the peir and found a ton of rope and traps, met up with a guy named George I think and we ended up buddying up and managed to pull two traps out that were buried pretty deep.

I had fun and my son enjoyed playing on the beach waiting for me to come out of the water, while my gal and her daughter got some sun.

See ya there next year.

I got all the way down, had to skip a couple traps because the girl I was with was nut much help with the "REALLY stuck stuff" lol. I pulled up more fishing hooks than I've ever seen in my life.

See ya next time!
