Have you ever thought of giving it another name, like "Introduction to Commercial Diving"?
I've been kicking around the idea of doing something similar; it'd give kids thinking of going into commercial dive schools a little taste of what it's like, before plunking down thousands of $$.

I did not want anyone assuming they could complete commerical dive training over a long weekend...

The recent article in Underwater did refer to the training as commercial dive course but the article explains the intent.

My interest in the training was promoting some alternative (in most cases safer) techniques scientific divers had available...

The response has been good so far, some of course are resistant to any mention of regulations but they are the exception not the rule.

It really turned out to be great having the police / public safety divers and engineer divers attend to present a completely different point of view on the training...

Yah, this course is an excellent addition to any PSD program.
Is Bob Barth still down PC way?
One of the ENTs I had in the Navy was on the SEALAB program. The guy spent 30 seconds looking in my ears & 45 minutes telling dive stories. One of my better doctor visits.

Holy smokers, just looked at the http://www.g2000ss.com/default.shtml page, that's one heck of a hat. What does it sell for?
Any option for a double exhaust for contaminated work?

Yeah they just had the Sea-lab reunion three weeks ago!

They are selling his book through the museum now...

He is still working the design some, it just came out of NEDU and he is making some modifications to get listed on the ANU.

He is all set for mass production now and I think he was looking around $5400 or so for the hat but that is just from memory... Similar in price to the Miller hat if new.

I will have to look into the double exhaust item, It sure would be an advantage having the protection of a metal hat (saw the Desco in your profile) with the air consumption of a demand rig doing internal work... I can not wait to try it out, he had two of them out at Underwater Intervention and they are really clean looking rigs also.

Do you remember the docs name? Clark, Harvey, Bond were three of the doctors with the projects. Dr. Harvey is the secretary for the Institute of Diving now. I recently volunteered to edit the newsletter for the IOD / Museum of Man in the Sea.

Are you still diving / working at all?

Jeff

Wow thats a nice hat. I see TOC got two of them, pity i already graduated and didnt get to dive them.

Shiny sucker thats for sure.

Yeah the one he polished looks great, but I gotta say one better is the polished Miller!!! I love the look of that thing...

While I was in school one of the jobs was polishing up the Jakes on the quarter deck... I never did mind doing that, they look amazing done right...

When were you at TOC trimix? Are you still working it part time?
