I'm planning to shoot a special mini series for my existing TV series 'Scott Tucker's Expedition New England" where we escape the cold and head south to document the awesome Florida Marine Life this coming January 2009. I'm on a tight budget so volunteers willing to be interviewed for the show and assist as dive partners are needed. Most likely we'll be arriving the first week of January but dates are still getting ironed out.
The following is a wish list of dive destinations and questions;
1/ My most important mission is to film the Manatees in the Crystal River / Homosassa River area. I realize dive equipment is hardly necessary for this one but any suggestions on when and where to film Manatees would be helpful.
2/ I'm looking for suggestions on dive options in the Clearwater / St. Petersburg area. Is there any decent diving in these parts of the Gulf or should I save my breath?
3/ I'll be stuck in Disney for a week but need to know if anyone has suggestions on good dive options out of Orlando. Any decent marine life action off Ft. Lauderdale?
4/ I'll probably head to the keys and honestly my past two dive trips were disappointing. Any suggestions on a great dive spot?

To learn more about my existing program and history on "Expedition New England" go the website at ExpeditionNewEngland

Thanks

We have the best reefs in S.E. Florida loaded with life, I was surprised to here you say the Keys where disappointing.
1. Kings springs is a great place to interact with the manatees.
2. In the Clearwater area I would dive with Captain Ty

3. Orlando area is spring dives aka wet rocks.
Ft Lauderdale area has some of the best shore dives in Florida, swim right out to the reefs
4. Dive with Conch Republic Dive Center in the Key Largo.
