Anyone have feedback or experience with the dive op at Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort located in Marathon Florida?
Some nosebreathers and I are going this summer and I was curious about the dive op on the property. Is the diving in Marathon better or worse than Key West and Key Largo? I dove Key West and aside from the Vandy, I was not impressed with its reef. I have dived Key Largo several times and like the wrecks and reef there.
If the diving is decent I'd rather stay and dive Marathon than endure a two hour round trip commute between Marathon and Key Largo each day while on vacation. Thank you for reading this and thanks in advance for any opinions and advice.
Of course I will take a day to visit Pete and Elena in Key Largo.
It has been a few years since I had dove Marthon, but it was prety good last time I was there. Samantha's Reef, Sombraro Reef & the Thunderbolt wreck were all good dives. I can check my pics and log book tonight for other info and site names if you want.
Don't have any info on the resort you ar looking at, so I can't help you there. As for Key West I don't much care for the diving there.
Women are angels, and when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly................................on a broomstick........we are flexible like that!
Forgot I had a journal on my website. Just checked it for the last time I was in Marathon (October 07).
Other dives we did: Critter Ridge, Herman's Hole, Horse Shoe, Yellow Rocks, Shark Harbour, Tropical Rocks & Parallel. These were all shallow reefs as we were mainly doing macro.
So close, we can come see you. Capt Bob owner of Capt Hooks in Marathon will be happy answer your questions. Just give him a call. Hes always inviting us down. And you are not that far from Conch Republic, Capt Gary & Brenda.
Elena It's your life, dive it well.

Thanks for the dive site info. My interest has definitely been piqued with all your dive sites, particularly Samantha's Reef.

Thank you, I'll look into Tilden's as well.

Some of my nosebreather friends may get certified by the time we travel to Marathon or get certified there so the shallow reefs would work if I wanted to dive with them. Again, thank you!

Thanks, Elena. Looking forward to my trip cause it's been three years since I last dove any where in the Keys.
