    2 dive days @ molasses reef, 7/18, 719/12, pics,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    yesterday; sunshine, light winds, 1ft seas, minimal current, blue water, 60-80FT viz, water temp 81F @ 55-96FT on buoy M28(2 tanker). today; sunshine, 12-15KT winds, sloppy 2-4FT seas, zero to light current, blue water. viz a terrific 80-100FT 1st dive, degrading to 50-70FT on the 2nd(outgoing tide), water 81F @ 55-92FT again on M28(2 tanks). 1st dive today, multiple eagle rays, turtles, numerous schools of silversides(base of the dropoff, 65-85FT) and pelagics. super dives. pics from timg,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    great question(it was a fish). we were motoring into my canal system and elected not to stop and get a closer view. i intially thought a juvenile parrotfish/wrasse but not so sure now. i was suprised he/she was able to swallow the fish whole,,

    Great pics as always. But I worry whenever I see a free swimming remora. 1: where is whatever it was attached to? and 2: one once tried to attach itself to my head and yanked out a bunch of hair. Simultanenous moment of freak-out/pissed off/ouch!

    Thank you Jet. Don't see the remoras free like that too often. This one stayed under the boat the entire time.

    Bet the head shot hurt!

    Thank you.

    I use a Nikon D300 in a Seacam housing with two Ikelite 160 strobes.
    The lens for these shots was a 17-55mm, which is a great lens for the Keys since we see large and small animals on the same dive quite often.
