I'm trying to convince the better half that we need a weekend dive trip to south FL. She likes her warm water, pretty reefs, and pretty fishes.

What are the water temps like around Pompano and Key Largo in mid-late March?

Thanks.

Key Largo at Molasses Reef in March is 22c to 26c water temp according to historical data. That's about 72f to 80f.

You can get Key Largo (molasses reef) current conditions at
http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=mlrf1

They also have a link for historical data. see these two links.

(remember to convert from Celcius to Fahrenheit on temps on this chart.

There isn't a bouy near Pompano, but Lake Worth is about 30 miles up the coast and temps should be about the same.
Here's the site URL for it. http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=LKWF1

Still not toasty by many people's standards, but certainly bearable in a 5mm possibly with a hood.

Any idea of where/when/what? I may have another diver on my hands by that time

I think it often depends on the season preceding. I have logged dives showing as low as @67 in March in the West Palm area. However, temps seem to be staying in the low 70's this year, so by late March they may well be back up to mid 70's. And tell your wife I'm a true wimp, and I'm managing by layering lots of neoprene. :D
