Question Economy Lodging in Key West

Taking a page from VEL525 about Key Largo.

I was wondering if something under $50 a night exists at an acceptable standard in Key West. Anybody know of month to month apartments there ?

Check out Lowedaph's post on page one of the Key Largo thread you cited. It links to a great article about visiting the Florida Keys on a budget. Thanks Daphne! Also, I'm pretty sure that there's a hostel in Key West that's well known amongst budget travelers.

There IS a Hostel down there..

The other option is to try an island or two up from KW for something a little cheaper...

The lesser known areas aren't QUITE as pricey according to my friends who are "locals".

(on a sad note...my VERY cheap accomodations are going to be done soon, my friend is getting trasferred OUT of KW...bummer!)
