HiMy girlfriend and I want to buy force finsWe aren't super fit, just normal new scuba divers. She would like to spend a little less on a fin and I want to spend a little more. We dive in Brisbane and there are sometimes strong currents where we use our arms to help get through it. We are starting our advanced course next weekend. We will most likely start wreck diving asapShe is using a 7 bootie and I am using a 10 bootie. Not sure which country shoe size the measurement was inPlease recommend fins for us. She might pay more for pink
The correct size depends on the type of boot you wear. You would need either XL or XXL and can adjust the fit using comfort inserts for different boots. Your girlfriend would need either L or M/L.
Another question is what do you mean by "wreck divining"? If you are planning on getting trained for deep wreck penetration, that might require different fins than if all you intend to do is explore around the open areas of wrecks.
My guess is based on you comment that neither of you are strong swimmers is that she would be happy with original force fins (the come in Pink at no extra charge) and you would be happy with either originals or Hockey's.
Again more info on boot type and type of diving would help in making a recommendation on size and fin type.
Thank you for the help so far. I am going to order this boot in a 10 tonight, Blue Reef 5MM Mens Dive Boots with Zipper. We will see this weekend which boot she buys, probably a tusa or scubapro 7 boot.
The immediate future plans for diving are advanced course in two weeks, Fiji in three weeks, get enough dives, (what ever the school offers) to do rescue and then do that. I am interested in wreck penetration. She is interested in photography. We will always be together so both of us will most likely do the same things

Just for comparison - I wear a 10 1/2 shoe and wear either 10 or 11 in boots depending upon manufacturer. The boot you selected is what I would call a "medium" sole boot. I have a 3 mm boot with a medium sole and wear an XXL Force Fin with 1 comfort insert with it. So I think you would be save with XXLs but get an extra set of inserts (so you could put 2 in the foot pocket, if needed). If you are going to really get certified for wreck penetration - I would definitely go for the Hockey Force Fin.
My wife wears a Size 7 boot (she is a women's 8) and wears a size L Force Fin. They can be a tight fit with heavy soled boots but with medium soles she uses 1 insert. She can put in 2 inserts and wear them barefoot, if she wants. The only concern I would have for her is that some people (including me) have a hard time learning to frog kick in the originals (it takes a slightly modified method). If you are doing wreck penetrations you will do a lot of frog kicking so as not to stir up silt. So her learning curve might be a little longer for perfecting her frog kick. Unfortunately, the Hockey Fins are not currently made in size L (only XL and XXL) - so these are not an option for her. Another option would be the Flying Force Fin - it is easier to frog kick but it does not come in Pink (only purple and red) and is expensive.
I have an idea if Force Fin would agree. Why don't you send in your boots to Force Fin and they could send you the correct size of fin along with your boots back?
Since the OP is in Australia and buying boots from LeisurePro - he would be spending quite a bit on extra shipping. Maybe LeisurePro would just drop ship the boots to
Force Fins (spend $50 and get free shipping in the USA) and then they could be shipped with the Fins to him.
But I am pretty sure my suggestions on size will work just fine.
Do you guys know how purple the purple hokey fin is? Is it more red than purple? I am going to have a have a red/black scubapro suit most likely and a couple red/black atomic items
