Force Fin: SCUBA Diving Fins signed by Jean-Michel Cousteau and Bob Evans - Online Fundraising Auction - BiddingForGood

These are a true collector’s item as they have been worn by Force Fin creator and Master Fin Designer, Bob Evans, and are signed by he and Jean-Michel Cousteau.

Over 30 patents have issued to Bob Evans for revolutionary fin designs. His Tan Delta Force Fin is part of the permanent collections of the Department of Architecture and Design of the New York Museum of
Modern Art. Along with his Extra Force Fin it is also part of the collections of the Costume Institute of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. 22 of his products were shared at an exhibit at the County of Los Angeles Museum of Architecture and Design, in which Bob Evans was the only designer named other than Charles and Ray Eames.

New or used Force Fins command collectors’ prices. Highest bid at auction to date was $3,750 for a pair worn and signed by Sylvia Earle. Let’s beat that price here! 100% is donated to Ocean Futures Society.

Force Fin is The Official SCUBA Diving Fins for Jean-Michel Cousteau and Ocean Futures Dive Team:

For more than a decade, Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society has used the innovative designs of Bob Evans' Force Fins. Bob has been a dedicated friend of the ocean nearly his entire life and shows his support of the Ocean Futures Society philosophy by supplying the team with fins that enable us to accomplish our goal of protecting the ocean.
The open-foot pocket design of the Force Fin line gives our divers the ability to endure high work loads and long dive durations without the consequence of leg cramps experienced with other fin designs. The Force Fin design also gives divers the versatility of using the same fin for diving with a drysuit or a dive skin with the simple addition of a comfort instep into the foot pocket. This means that the same fin is suited to the feet of both male and female divers on the team. Made in the USA, another advantage of the Force Fin is its durability. Thanks to the high quality materials, design, and method of production, several divers on the team have used the same pair of their favorite Force Fins for years on end without any loss of performance or structural integrity.

Darn, Bob, I should have had Jean-Michel and Sylvia sign my fins back in the 70s when we worked together on J-M's Project Ocean Search. Oh, wait.,.. those fins were solid black and long gone. Tee hee.
