I need a tube of silicone to waterproof my knife. Anyone able to give me the thai text for it and tell me where I can buy some in Thailand?

Hi Spog - Silicone is readily available at any dive shop or hardware store. The Thai word, believe it or not, is pronounced sili - corn with no emphasis on the r and the latter part of the word in the high tone (according to our Thai colleague who translated the PADI Rescue manual to Thai). This reminds me of the time about 10 years ago when we were looking for a new battery for our car and we discovered that the Thai word is batt-u-reee!!!

Best one I ever heard was when an electrician was telling me I needed a new lap ling which translates to sleeping(lap) monkey(ling). took me about an hour to stop laughing when I realized that I needed a slip ring.

Cheers
