Hi
Anyone know where and how to get classes on being a qualified tech for repairing the equipment??? Thanks.

Preferably in anywhere in North America or down under. How long it takes to go through those courses?

Hi, I dont know anything about this school but it was offered to me in a posting on another thread. http://www.divingtechnologies.com

The thread is called "Learning Repair". I started it a few days ago.

Hi,

Anyone heard of this course from Aqualung that can be obtained after 2 days of study from a dive centre? Is it recognisable to work in the dive industry? But the pre requirement is the equipment specialist for that.

Yes, you can take the AquaLung course (see your local AquaLung dealer) but a "equipment specialist" qual isn't neccesary. But, it is very difficult/ impossible to purchase the service manuals/ parts kits unless you work for a dive shop.

However the biggest benefit is that it takes the mystery out of regulators. You understand exactly how they function and in the end you have increased your knowledge for troubleshooting and avoiding problems with the magical things that let us do the thing we love to, Dive.

I know of one course that covers everything from regulators to compressors. You can contact Steve Burton at www.mermaiddive.com. Of course this is in Thailand so may not be suitable.

I know the Instructor personally, he is an Engineer and very thorough when he teaches.
