I am looking to complete a course that would certify me as a dive equipment technician in order to futher my dive career.
Could anyone recommend any courses.

There are a few options for you. I am not very familiar with the UK Diving MFG's however, most here in US have technican seminars at the annual DEMA show. You have to be a DM in order to attend the show or work in a Dive shop or Travel industry. This is what I did:
After I became DM (with full intention of crossing into repair), I had a local shop "sponsor" my entry to DEMA. I paid for my first repair seminar (Oceanic) there. It is hard to get your foot in the door of any shop for a repair job without at least one MFG Certification. Than, over time I learned hands on at the shop I now work for and have achieved many MFG Certs. as well as having completed instructor training, gas blending, Visual tank Inspector cert as well.
I also work at the Eastern Academy of Scuba Education here in Vero beach Florida. We teach a dive industry specialist course. This looks good on your resume.

The best technicians are detail oriented, observant, curious, obsessive, organized, mechanical, tidy, and industrious. If you are reasonably good with most of these traits, likely you would be of use at your local dive shop (LDS) today.

At the LDS you would get an education on a wide variety of equipment and plenty of time doing light servicing, cleaning, and adjusting of equipment. You don't have to be factory or course certified to do many basic Tech Jobs - Like changing spooler o-rings in an HP gauge/Hose system.

If you enjoyed the work, and did a good job, you would know it. Don't forget the opportunity down the street. Might be a good starting point.
