Looking for a good week somewhere. Not LOB

Wife and I are looking for somewhere to go in July.

We spent Christmas in cancun, and really enjoyed the diving there.

Heading back again same time next year, so wanting something different for the summer trip.

Easy dives, not too deep.
Any ideas?

next to cancun(about 20 minutes south)is located a little town named puerto morelos... bery pretty place tipycal mexican fishermans village...the diving is very good and close by(5 to 15 minutes boat ride)...i work in one of the shop inside of hotel name MARINA EL CID,the dive shop name is marina dive center also check ecodiving tour...

Define please- you went back and edited your post to sharpen up the requirements. You are starting from Manitoba, tell us what that mens say, for you to get to the Caribbean. Airlines and charters run Canadian based trips to Mexico like the Main Street Trolley, direct and inexpensive. Most other Caribbean destinations require an intermediate stop (and more money) to get you to some other rock to the South.

We were talking about the Caribbean? One man's "crazy long flight" just might be another traveler's 18 hour nap.

How many dives per day?
Price range?
All inclusive or wander around looking for restaurants?
Other activities each day or just dive dive dive?
big fancy resort or rustic?

July is the beginning of hurricane season for the Caribbean so you might, and that is a big may have, bad weather. Chances are slim, but prices are lower everywhere in Caribbean for that reason. It is also hotter and muggier in Caribbean in summer. Just things to keep in mind.

Okay, that says alot. You are looking for a Resort with diving vacation, not a Dive Resort. Big difference.
You might enjoy Cozumel Palace then. Complete luxury, great diving, close to town. It does not have a beach, so if that is important to you, then I would go to Cozumel Secrets Aura which is further from town. Both are going to give you the luxury and great diving on same reefs.

If you thought Cancun diving was good, then Cozumel will blow your mind.
