Hello all, i am looking for referrals of dive shops in Punta Cana. I am heading there in Feb.
I like my bottom time. Any help will be appreciated.

Where are you staying, most of the resorts have dive shops on site, or ones that cater to them.

how is the diving there?

I went in March of last year, it wasn't that good in Punta Cana, most of the sites were shallow and there were rough seas which made the visibility bad. But I did dive every day. I also did the Saona Day trip which consisted of 2 dives, the diving there was much better. I stayed at Iberostar and used Dressel Divers

The diving in Punta Cana is "so so" at best (although the beach is amazing). If you are serious about diving during your stay you need to make the trip to the south coast to the village of Bayahibe (near La Romana). It is the departure point for all the best diving. There you will find a great Russian freighter at around 100', an incredible wall dive (Catalina Island) and some great reef (Penon reef). If you make the trip book your dives with John at ScubaFun. He has the best dive boats on the island and is a great guy!

We are thinking of Punta Cana as well. I have heard that the mosquitoes are bad there. Any thoughts on this?
