Hi there,
My girlfriend and I are planning to book a week's holiday in August, we've never dived before but want to do the PADI OW course. We are based in London, and had been thinking of either going to the Red Sea, or somewhere in the Mediterranean (Malta/Cyprus?)

Has anyone got any thoughts on which might be best, I'm a bit worried it could be too darn hot in the Red Sea in August even though there seem to be loads of good diving spots. What are Malta and Cyprus like, and which would you recommend?

All advice gratefully accepted.....

I don't know to much about what would be close to London, but have heard the Red Sea can be a more advanced dive often having strong currents. Greek Islands sound nice though, but I don't know much about the diving. Good luck where ever you go, and welcome to Scuba.
