Hey guys

This has always been the best resouce for candid information for me so I'd appreciate any feedback.

My boyfriend and I are wanting to go somewhere for 2 weeks at the end of December/beginning of January. We are based in LA. Where in the world should we go?

A few general guidelines to help pare it down:
- we are looking to do some great diving, but not diving only. We'd like to go somewhere that has a diverse range of other activities as well (hiking, biking, sightseeing, or whatever).
- warm water (full 3mil or less is fine)
- because we have 2 weeks, and those are rare for us, we'd like to go somewhere that we couldn't do in a week or less- so Mexico, Carribbean, Central America, etc. is out.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Sounds like you are describing Hawaii... right in the middle of humpback season!

Wow! Thanks for all of the suggestions! We are starting to lean towards Thailand..

Ringo, I will be in touch!

While looking into Thailand, check out the Mergui Archipelego in Burma. It was beautiful in January. And they say more life than Thailand, but I never dove in Thailand.

Edited to add, Mergui would be like a week's liveaboard - not really any other activities than diving. Although you could stock up on landbased stuff before or after.
