Has anyone use Spirit Airlines? Especially one of there "deals"? They have some from Ft. Laud. to Grand Cayman for $8. Small window of opp., limited dates, and round trips but there are some dates that could work for us. Even the return prices still makes it very attractive. Could drive to FL to save several hundred $$s. I think I even saw one a few days ago from Atlanta to GC. Just wondering if anyone had purchased one of these specials?

They are my "hometown airline" and fly new Airbus 320s (I think all the DC-9s they had are gone now). They are definitely a higher quality but lower cost airline.
Be aware of their recent policy change to allow only one free checked bag however.

I used to fly them often when they first came to Chicago-OHare, but now find they are rather high on the ORD-FLL runs.

We flew them to Cancun from FLL. The prices do not include taxes. Add around 100-150 for taxes. We have no complaints and we will fly them again. You can figure out prices with tax. Just pick the one you want and you can view the total without buying.
$32 Rt but $10 for a second bag. Ah ha - that's where they get ya! :11:

I fly them about 3X per year. I live near AC and the family lives in Myrtle Beach. They are a great airline for quick getaways, but if you have a ton of bags they will get you on that.
