Suggestions for a late Sept/Early Oct Trip?

Hi, my fiance and i are planning on taking a trip in the early fall (sept/oct). Last year we went to Bonaire and were thinking we would like to go someplace else this year. Caribbean, or Central/South America. One of our concerns for this time of year was rainy season, is it much of a factor? Thanks!

You should be fine then UNLESS a hurricane decides to visit your spot....For example: rainy season on Roatan is Dec thru about Feb............

Ooooh, that's just about the peak of hurricane season.

Curacao? Fiji would be nice. California Channel Island are very nice that time of year.
Fiji was fantastic. Diving in the caribbean will never be the same.

How about Maui? THere are tons of awesome spots there.....with sharks!
I've caught a bug. A bug for which no cure has been found. It is, in fact, THE DIVING BUG!!

Never presume that an unexploded goat is an indication of a safe decompression profile.

September/October is peak time for seeing whalesharks in Galapagos. If you are fairly experienced divers and if you don't mind colder than Caribbean waters and doing a liveaboard, that to me is one of the the best possible trip options within your stated preference for this hemisphere.

It's tough to get on a trip due to high demand tho. Suggest that you contact Ken at Galapagos Adventures. I'd heard that there were a couple of openings on the Deep Blue for September. Good luck.

Anywhere in the Caribbean you can get rainy tropical weather in Sept/Oct... or you could get absolutely gorgeous sunny weather. No way to predict. The only thing you can predict is that it will be very hot and humid with some rain occasionally. The good thing is that it is the off-season so prices will be lower for everything. So if you are willing to take the risk it can be a deal.
If you aren't willing to take the risk and must go on vacation during that time, I would think about Hawaii.

    I'm a Fish!
Try Curacao or Grenada, further south is safer in regards to hurricanes.
The rain is usually not that much in Sep./Oct., but it's all nice and green.

San Andres and/or Old Providence are often over look Caribbean destinations. Being some of the southern most Caribbean island, so usually safe from hurricanes. Depending on what you like,
San Andres is more a tourist place with resorts casinos, disco Tec, beaches, diving and dining.
Old Providence is more a nature preserve with dry rain forest, mangrove preserve, deserted beaches, 3rd largest reef in the world, small cabanas type resorts. The locals love and respect there nature wonderland so you wont find night clubs, casino or large resorts.
I have a group going in Aug 30 thru Sept 6 if you’re interested check out my web page.
    Ciao

!!!Dive in the worlds 3rd largest reef!!!
Old Providence over 100 square miles of reef.
18 square km of island, 90% Tropical dry rain forest.
