Question Staying with Locals: Has Anyone Done It?

I only travel to locations where I can dive whenever I go on vacation. I haven't been in a long while because of budget constraints. My buddy told me about a site I can use called Tripping where I can find locals to stay with for free. I noticed they have something called the PADI Travel Network page where I can find other divers to stay with. Has anyone stayed a couple nights at other divers-they-met-online's homes when traveling? I would love to hear about your experiences.

Hey there! I've actually used Tripping and sites similar to it in the past to stay with locals wherever I've traveled around the world - you should try it! Saves money plus you make friends and get to know an area better than you would by staying in a hotel.

I didn't know they launched a new PADI Travel Network though - that's awesome! I'll have to check it out! Thx.

    Cheers,
    DD

Thanks DD! It's good to hear that you've used sites like Tripping and had a great time staying with locals. Maybe I'll see you on the PADI Travel Network.
