thanks. Some really good suggestions. I had really hoped for a "one stop shopping" sort of web site, but it appears I'll have to research each location by itself.
1. I come up with a list of places I would like to go. It's a long list.
2. Shorten said list based on reviews and skill level required to properly dive the sites.
3. Compare costs: airfare/resort/liveaboard
4. Figure how much vacation time the gf has left(I accrue more so hers is the limiting factor)
5. Determine what historical/cultural points of interest are in the area to keep the gf happy when we're not diving.
6. Go diving
For me, the research is half the fun. I'm currently planning our upcoming honeymoon and have changed my mind three times for various reasons. I'm currently looking at a combination liveaboard/resort combo in Belize. We'll see if I change my mind again...
..............
Which brings me to my question. Is there a comprehensive web site that sorta ranks dive locations, easiest to hardest? Not best to worst because that's subjective, but easiest to hardest? ...........
I just found this web site, part of the Dive Training Magazine site, that provides info about dive locations world wide. Perhaps it will help.

I actually just read recently that planning and researching a vacation provides more happiness than actually taking the vacation which I believe. I love planning vacations whether they ever happen or not, its still fun to dream about them and plan them.
