If you're going to come to the Keys for the best diving in the USA, you would miss out if you didn't make it out to the Dry Tortugas. Dry Tortugas are most easily reached for diving by liveaboard, and there are 2 that have regularly scheduled trips there. Dry Tortugas has the best big fish life in the Caribbean, although it is notably light on big pelagics (sharks and Manta rays, eagle rays are fairly common), and the corals are healthier than everywhere except the Flower Gardens. The Spree and Ultimate Getaway are the 2 boats that offer trips to the Dry Tortugas, and 3 day trips that time of year are normal. If the weather blows you out in the Dry Tortugas, you can always fall back on your Key Largo plan.
