Just got C-card at the beginning of the season and already logged 34 dives, but all in cold water(Mass&Ca). Looking to drop the 7mil for reef diving, any suggestions for great island diving that won't break the bank? Thanks for any feedback. diverbri

    Diverbri,
Well, everyone probably knew I'd jump on this one.
I've been putting together a group of divers for Bonaire, and we have one room left. The date is March 17th to March 24th, 2001.

Best bang for the buck (most dives per dollar) is probably Blackbeard's. Next is Cozumel or Akumal... Things jump up pretty rapidly from there.
And since Natasha's offering, I will too - I have a few slots available on my Akumal trip 17-24 March.. Let me know if you're interested.

    Rick,
Too bad your dates are the same as mine. I'd love to go there!
Are you going to DEMA to work out your trips for 2001 and 2002?
We should try to work together if possible. That way we could dive together someday! Where are the future trips you have planned?

In addition to our local Springs and Gulf trips, we have these planned for this year.
    Akumal, Mexico March 17 - 24th
Turks & Caicos June (Long Weekend ) TBA
    Bonaire August (One Week) TBA
    Cozumel August (long weekend) TBA
    St.Lucia September 22nd to 29th
In addition, I'm toying with a Blackbeard's in July and perhaps a Flower Gardens when we can fit it in.
I'll be at DEMA, but probably not for the whole thing.. We're very excited about the coming year - just enclosed a new training tank (pool).. classes start back up in three weeks.

    Rick,
Great Menu! But I will have dove all of those but the March 17th date to Akumal.
I'm going to offer The Great Barrier Reef and few other surprises when we get back from DEMA too.
    Hope to see you there!

    Rick,

My wife, my self and another couple are planning to be in Bonaire late july or early august but because I like to dive a bit more than they do, I find myself in need of a buddy at times. Any chance we could meet up and join forces?

Rick, I can't send an email from here but if you email me I can reply. I want some specifics about diving Flower Gardens. Are you taking any groups there? Thanks! Tracy
