Hello everyone :)

I have now read everything there os to read about the Sardine run i South Africa.
And as i can see the best time is mid jun - start july.

But maybe some of you have been there and has some other oppinion?

Also there are some different Places.
As i can see St. Johns seems the best, but what could be an alternative?

Thank you

Michael

We went july to aliwal shoal. Saw whales cruising by which was awesome. August and early september are best further north. June you want to hit the south coast  imo

I just dove Aliwal in June, you can read about my trip here Diving Destinations - Aliwal Shoal

I went there because, like you, I wanted to see the sardine run, and while I did see humpbacks...

I was informed that the Sardine location was in fact further south in St. Johns area as several people from the Umkomaas dive shops were gearing up themselves to head down there... also, its nature, so its really hard to plan when it will happen.
