    Diving lamps regulation

On the FAA website, I came accross something very specific to dive lamps:

    (14) Electrically powered
    heat producing articles (e.g.,
    battery-operated equipment
    such as diving lamps and
    soldering equipment) as
    carry-on baggage only and
    with the approval of the
    operator of the aircraft. The
    heat producing component, or
    the energy source, must be
    removed to prevent
    unintentional functioning
    during transport.

This is supposed to be extracted from regulatory text.

How Bizarre. I just remove batteries and stick in checked luggage. I know some divers don't remove batteries, which strikes me as - can't think of a nice way to say it...
You can test the tanks you breathe or - dive on hope.
    Testing is safer...

Great news for vacation divers who cannot talk themselves into buying a personal CO tank tester!

    >> Rent one for a week or longer here <<
Now let's see more CO readings in your trip reports, ok...??

Imagine a world that used common sense. But, common sense is not all that common.
