    Thumbs up Favorite Dive Spots

    Hey Everybody:

I'm a new diver and would welcome all opinions on the best places to dive; local, nationwide and international.

Let me hear what you have to say!

    Thanks -

    StandSure

P.S. Let me know what you think is overrated as well!

I am not much for traveling so heres my local list:

    Cresant bay, laguna Beach
    La Jolla shores
La Jolla Canyon ( same as the shores just further out)
Lois Ann, San Diego for the Wrecks and kelp dives
Farnsworth Bank, back side of catalina
    Blue caverns, Catalina
    Shaws Cove, Laguna beach

    Those be my local favorites

    Anywhere

I have to agree with Trymix, except I say anywhere off Catalina, Laguna Beach for the local scene.

Florida and Hawaii aren't too shabby either. Later this year I hope to say the same for Bonaire and Belize.

overrated - Thistlegorm, Red Sea :boom: OK it is OK if you get it to yourself........

Favourite - wrecks of Abu Nuhas and the Salem Express. Locally the wreck at Atami and the islands of Hachijijo & Oshima (sorry sunfish if I have spelt them wrong!) - oh yes and Tago, Ito - oh what the hell diving in Japan. Can you tell I started in the colder waters of the UK.....

If I said Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure, would you come and have a look?

More seriously, in the Mediterranean, Cristo degli Abissi in the Portofino area, in the Red Sea anything in Ras Mohammed or the Tiran Straights, in Thailand Anemone Reef (geeze, 39 days are so long to crawl by):crawl:
