I know a lot of people who are attending dive schools all over the U.S., the Caribbean and some even in the south Pacific. I wanted to start a discussion about some of these schools to give folks a resource to use when deciding where to go. I know some of these places are better then others and it can add up once you factor in your training cost, possible accommodation cost, etc.
Personally I went to EASE in Vero Beach Florida for my Emergency First Responder -> Dive Master certification and also got my Specialty Instructor rating and DAN Diving Emergency Specialist there as well. I was satisfied with EASE's facilities and I thought the accommodations while small were nice. The set-up with the classrooms and pool right on site were great. All my course directors were top notch and I think I had just about all of EASE's teaching staff at one point or another, they were all really great.
The dives we did in WPB Florida were great and everything was pretty nice overall. My only complaint about EASE was the training lake. It just reminded way too much of a dirtier version of some of the local lakes I dive here in MD. I will probably go back to EASE for my IDC.
