Hi Folks,

I am on vacation in the carribean and trying my GoPro Hero+ Silver edition scuba diving. I am experiencing a very strange problem when using the Flip3.1 Dive filter (for Blue water) by Backscatter... everything has a terrible green cast in the video. Without the filter, everything seems ok. Above water videos without the video also seem ok... it's as though the filter is confusing the Auto WB.

I am shooting at 1080p / 30fps and have recently updated my camera's firmware (3 weeks ago).

Sample video provided with and without filter.

With Filter

Without Filter

I am also experiencing the similar issues when taking photos with the GoPro underwater with the Filter, however the cast looks somewhat different (using the same filter as above). The only difference is that out of 4 photos, 1 of them turned out "ok".

Thank you for any input and ideas! This has really got me scratching my head!

Thanks for the recommendation but is Protune is not available for the Silver edition.

Wow really? The H3 Silver had it, even my old H2 had Protune mode without RAW WB. So they have crippled the H3+ Silver by removing PT it seems... sorry. I stopped using GoPro's a while ago.

Wow....I'm not a pro....but I have never had that happen to me in blue or green water. I've used the 3 silver for 3 dives before it went on the fritz and GoPro replaced it to the 3+. I haven't used ProTune either. I researched a ton of threads here and I haven't seen this occur before. If that were the case I don't need to go to the Caribbean to dive green water, I'll stay in Washington. I also feel if this was solely a white balance issue we'd have more threads on this and an outcry.... and we don't........

I hear ya.. i haven't found anything on this. I've got a ticket open with GoPro (still waiting for an answer) and hopefully this is a question of a defective unit. I've use a 3 with the red filter with no issue. Hopefully i can get this resolved. The good folks at Backscatter (who provide excellent support by the way) are stumped as well.
