NS always warms up early in the spring since it's so shallow. This is the time of year to dive it because the visibility is still good and the grass is short There are a bunch of boats and cars and stuff including a couple concrete tubes to swim through. It's good for a day of nosing around when the vis is good, it's just aggravating in the summer because all the stuff is hidden by the grass.

erparamedic just called Hidden Paradise (sorry for the hijack, Vkat- it's a lot further) and they said their temps are 65 top to bottom (okay, so bottom isn't very deep). We might head over there Wednesday afternoon).

We dove there on Saturday We stayed in the shallower part, as I was diving with my daughter. We swam over the trench, but didn't go into it. Average depth was 15-18' and my temp guage read 61 the whole time. Hmmm....almost time for a wet suit....nah, I like diving dry way too much.

Seriously, though, my daughter was diving w/ a 5 mil and a 5 mil hood and she said that she was fine until the end of a 40 minute dive.

Ber...nice seeing you there on Saturday. Wish we could have stayed longer. Now if only I could get that compass thing figured out

Hmmm... 61 doesn't sound very tempting. I mean, if there's something to see, sure... I'll have to wait a bit, I guess.

Because of being real shallow, NS will cool off faster in the fall and winter, but then it has the ability to warm faster in the spring. You should of come along, it was pretty nice diving.

And, you could have helped with the concrete blocks!

I've learned about the concrete blocks enough to know that the best course of action to have a sudden and unexpected zipper jam... or bootie foul up... or whatever... that miraculously clears up once the concrete blocks are in place.

erparamedic and I were talking about meeting up on a week day. But a Saturday would fit my schedule (not hers) better.

His daughter is an itty bitty thing too so if she was fine you should be a happy camper TG. It was definitely warmer than Tobermory.

We'll be at White Star this Saturday if anyone wants to join us!

It's not you with the compass John, it's the quarry Takes a bit of navigation experience in there to figure out when you've entered the Twilight Zone and can't trust the compass

You sound awfully sure of yourself... I'm going to have to hem and haw a bit on that one- but a 1 hour drive to NS sure beats a 2.5 hour drive to Hidden Paradise...

You say the weeds aren't bad this time of year- I may have to give it a try, if only to get wet in an OW setting!

Ken was taking some underwater pictures that might prove the weeds are short. The best I can do is a surface pic thanks to a sinus infection and bronchitis. Now doesn't THIS make you want to pack your stuff and head out there?

This is my favorite time of year for Natural Springs, I DETEST those weeds!
