Eastern and South East Lake Michigan wrecks and charters?

Looking to set up a dive trip near Michigan's wine country (Dives for the boys, wines for the ladies... ladies that don't dive that is) Any thoughts about wrecks and charters in western to southwest Michigan? General area of interest would be from Ludington to South Haven. Any information on wrecks and/or charter services in the area would be greatly appreciated!

I'm seeing the Brightie, at 70' and the State of Michigan, at 75'.... Maybe the Henry Cort? (just 'cause whalebacks are cool) Anybody dove any of these or know someone who runs a boat to them?

If you find any, pass them along! That part of Lake Michigan is deep and I'm not aware of any regular recreational charters leaving out of SW Michigan. My wife and I get up to South Haven regularly, and I'd love to be able to dive on occasion. However, I haven't found any viable options.

The only divers I know of hitting that part of the lake are doing technical dives in the 200'-270' range (Lake Michigan Saugatuck Area Shipwrecks). Jitka brings her boat over to that part of Michigan regularly (Shipwreck Explorers), but she appears to just do technical charters from there.
The views expressed above are simply my opinion and do not necessarily bare any resemblance to the truth. As a matter of fact, they are typically a load of bunk and should be summarily disregarded.

There are a couple charter boat operators listed on the WMUP website. Whether the charters operators still exist/have a boat/take people out is another question. Diver Links

    I'm a Fish!
Capt. Mike of N'Pursuit (Gary, IN) runs to the JD Marshall and the Muskegon. He might be able to at least give you a contact for that area.
    Gravity sucks, just dive!

I would really like to know this as well. I live in the Holland area and have yet to find any dive buddy's that have boats. I'm always on the lookout for a way to get out to the wrecks!

The State of Michigan is one of my local wrecks, its a good dive. The Cort is is more like some ship parts along the break wall. For the Cort to be a good dive the current must be from the north for clear water otherwise its a muck dive. Two miles to the north of the breakwall is the Salvor that is 30' deep and a much better dive. It is a barge full of stones.
Search "brads scuba cam" on youtube to see videos of the wrecks from Muskegon to Pentwater.
