This was what I had in my very first post on the matter:
I've got a few years before I'll even be thinking about going there, but I'm curious.
I don't see any reason at all why I should not be asking questions, Lubold. Isn't that what this board is for? I just wanted to know what was up.
Wreck diving is the entire reason I'm getting into scuba in the first place. I'm a huge history buff. I really don't care too much for fish and reefs, although they are nice to see. They just aren't my thing. Seeing warships from long ago and other shipwrecks from famous incidents are.
Bottom line is there's no reason for you to be scared of my questions. I'm working what I feel is a fairly rapid training program for my budget and my goals. I am taking my AOW next month, my rescue & drysuit hopefully over the summer, and then I'm going to start working on getting my bottom time before going for my MSD. Then I'll be looking at tech diving for further education.
I was a certified hazmat technician for six years. I know the dangers of ignorance, I've seen the results first hand. I have no intention of diving beyond my capabilities, experience, or training. However, I fully intend to find out the scope of such goals and get the training and experience I need to meet them. This is why I am asking about these things on Scuba Board.
Maybe you'll take me more seriously in another few years when there's a GUE tag below my name, but I'm thinking not. Just remember you had to ask questions once too...
