    Weekend in Ohio

Tomorrow I pick up my new drysuit at the shop. But, this weekend I had to "settle" for old reliable as I got the notice the new showed up at the shop too late.

I got to play with some scooters though. Also, my camera housing tested out fine so that will be ready for my next trip.

As far as well conditions, let's just say that our Canadian cousins aren't the only people who dive in "interesting" conditions. Upon arriving yesterday morning (a snowstorm dropped enough snow on the I-75 to turn a 3 1/2 hr. drive into a 5+ hr. drive.), I found a quarry with about 2 inches of ice below the snow and the only "safe" entry was the walk-in entry that you see on the photos. The docks were downright dangerous to walk on with doubles.

We shoveled the snow off the entry area and people sledded gear down to the walk-in point. Anyways, this is what it looked like on Saturday. It was a little better on Sunday.

BTW Air temps were in the 41-45 degree F range and water temp was 41 degrees.

The viz was all right. I am still waiting for that crystal clear vis that we see on alternate Tuesdays during a blue moon .

If I didn't have to work the weekend, I would be more than happy to go again next weekend. I have that new drysuit and the drygloves to test out after all.
