Howdy - new to the site and to diving (less than a year) - was out pretty far on Friday and thought I was close to the RJ Thompson but don't have the GPS coordinates - I do have coordinates on my fishing maps that say "12.5 Fathom Barge and 12.5 Fathom Tugboat" - their coordinates are N28 14.010 W083 21.420 and N28 14.510 W083 20.580

did you go to those coordinates? I don't have them (dove it twice with rock bottom charters out of tarpon springs) but apparently the tug and the barge it was towing sunk, so it sounds like that would be right. the depth also matches.

Not yet - spent the last week buying a new truck and boat - woot! Going from a 19 foot bayboat that wasn't ideal for our needs to a 25 foot cuddy Walkaround perfectly setup - so now I can actually get out to the coords in style :)

you may want to invest in the book"Underwater Florida"

it has just about ever dive site in florida.

if you ever want some company, let me know. been doing a ton of diving all winter long but now that the gulf is warming up i need to get some salt back into my diet. I'm in tampa and DM for for a shop here on the west side of town.

it's a great site, I love it. Here is my video of it from last month.

Thanks, Tom - I will look into that.

I have a feeling once I get my boat rigged properly I will be trying to do a LOT more diving and am always looking for dive buddies and people to help with gas - LOL. I have every Monday off as well as Sat and Sun, though the wife has me by the short and curlies on the weekend - she likes going out on the boat too! She just doesn't dive - but she's a good captain and bubble watcher.

Once I get the boat running right and equipped properly, I may post on here to arrange a little outing and properly christen "The Pickled Pelican" in properly (yup, that is the boat's name - LOL)

Pm sent.

I have way more all the way out to the middle grounds, hit me up if you want to buddy boat.

what dive charter do you recommend in the area that goes to RJ Thompson often? Would really love to drive up from south florida for this wreck - just don't have a sense of where to stay and who to book with.
