I just put together a travel BC out of a Zeagle Express Tech backplate and a DSS single tank wing for a Christmas dive trip I have coming up (have a 30 lb weight limit on one of the flights so going light). I'd like to try it out before getting to the dive site. Don't have a pool so looking for someplace where I can get the thing dialed in, either salt or fresh, close to Tampa. The only shore dive place I've heard of around is Indian Rocks beach, but the wading in and out between adjustments might be a pain. Hudson Grotto is the other option that comes to mind, but I was hoping for something closer (and someplace that's not going to have a conniption if I don't have a buddy standing by -- no lectures please; I'm trained and experienced in diving solo). Suggestions?

North side of the Skyway there's an area that I'd like to dive, it's right before the entrance to the pier. I've never dove this area but it could be good for a quick test dive, it's shallow underneath the bridge and gets about 12 feet deep where the rocks go into the water. The tide rips through here though.
