    Hi all,

Welcome to the new group Australian Divers!

With such a big country it would be silly not to have a Region group, so when i couldn't find a group that was already established, one just had to be created.

Hopefully this can build to be a regular hang out spot to discuss local issues and events.

    Cheers,
    Chris

    Hi!

Cool idea for a group. There is also the 'Australia' forum too, where we have fortnightly threads on everyone's diving where you can post dive stories and pics

    Hi there,

I'm heading back to Aus after a decade as an ex-pat. Anyone got suggestions for diving Melbourne and around? And no smart comments about needing a dry suit, please!

You really need a drysuit in winter soz :P But summer is fine in 5mm or 7mm

To dive around the bay, check out the charters that leave from Portsea or Queenscliff (Dive Vic, Ozdivecharters), and there is tonnes of shore diving too, depends what you like! There is a book called 'Shore dives of Victoria' by Ian Lewis, about $25 in most dive shops so I really recommend that. Also for dive shops I like Scuba Doctor in Rye the best, but also Aquability in Mentone and Academy of Scuba in Glen Iris have been good to me as well.

Any other questions let me know, I dive around Melb twice a week
