Greetings from Chicago!
Newbie here. Not certified yet, but went diving a couple of times. Really love it!!
Actually I have a question for you guys, I'll be in Honolulu next week can anybody recommend any good dive shops? I don't think I'll have time to get certified but I'm just looking to pick a day to go diving and hopefully see some good dive sites. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome to the board!

Hi Mike! Welcome to the board. In Honolulu, I've heard Aquazone is good. I've actually dived with Aaron's in Kailua, on the windward side. You shall not be disappointed if you dive with them.

Good luck,

wetrat

Mike, Welcome to the site. I have only been here about three weeks. I just got my certification yesterday ( Sunday). I am jealous that you are going to Honolulu. I am curious though. How can you get an air fill without a c card?

Sky

Welcome to the board. Laurens has given you a good start. However, if there is anything else I can help you with just give me a PM.

Thanks for the help guys!
Skybird, the only way you can go diving without a certification is if you go through discover scuba program again. That's where they train you on all the basics and then you go dive with a group. I don't think you go deeper than 40 feet. I've been trying to get my certification, but just never have the time. It takes usually 2-3 days to get OW cert and I'm just not gonna have this kind of time. But hey, if I can just set aside a day and go diving in Hawaii I'll be very satisfied. I heard there are quite a few dangerous sharks in Hawaii. Is this true? Anybody heard of it?

Have fun on your vacation. Come back and talk real diving when you get back...

The only dangerous sharks here are the kind that swim on the land. A few Tigers around but they like surfers not divers.
