BECOME PART OF A PASSIONATE CREW!As a Department Head, you will oversee the SCUBA Department while managing and developing a small team of 2–10 employees. Overall, you will strive to motivate your team to exceed daily sales and operational goals while ensuring a memorable customer shopping experience. You must be a highly motivated team player who is friendly, goal oriented and driven to exceed sales goals. This is a lead sales associate position and the first level of management within the organization. Success in this role could lead into a store–level Supervisor position within the organization.

Responsibilities:
Execute the day–to–day operational functions of the departmentDirectly accountable for overall sales, training and performance of the departmentStrive to attain daily, weekly and monthly sales and operational goalsHeavy interaction with customers and management at all levelsResolve customer problems efficiently and tactfullyComplete necessary documentation and paperwork neatly and accuratelyComply with industry procedures and regulationsRemain current on trends and technologyAdhere to safety procedures regarding use of tools and equipmentMaintain an organized and clean work areaDemonstrate proficiency in selling skills and technical skills within the departmentFlex staff to accommodate the needs of the businessImplement merchandising/sales directives to meet company guidelinesExecute floor moves as directed by the visual teamDevelop and enhance management skills while leading by exampleTrain, coach, develop and review direct reportsInterview applicants and make hiring recommendationsA varied schedule will include day, evening and weekend shifts.Must have exceptional customer service skillsMust be 18 years of ageCertified Diver; preferably at the Dive Master level or above2 years experience in retail sales preferred; scuba gear sales a PLUS!Ability to suggestively sell and be persuasive; coach members of your team to maximize salesAbility to successfully lead a team; results orientedStrong communication skills; organizedPassionate end–user of the products we sell and promoteWillingness to continue scuba education
