Hi,

Why is it better to have weights located on your back than on your front? Obviously, it's more streamlined on your back, but is there some other reason?

having the weights (whether your plate or on your cam bands) and the wing over your lungs puts all the balancing forces in one place, provided you're in good trim.

other reasons, guys?

Trim is why I do it.

Me too LOL:D..and of course it is far more comfortable like this....

If you need to get weight on your upper body for the sake of trim it usually needs to be out back. Other than that the more that goes to the front (bottom) of your body the more you will tend to swim in a prone position.

When I put weight in pockets on my cam band I put it as close to my plate/back as possible. I really really didn't like having a lot of weight on the far side of my tank. I also saw a friend who filled a piece of climbing webbing with lead and wraped it around his STA. really cool!

The divers that end up feet up in the water because of all the weight on their back, how do they correct their trim.
