Is there a recommended or preferred d-ring for cameras? Any strong arguments in favor of one clip-off point vs. another?

I've been clipping mine off to the rear d-ring (or to the lower right hand hole of my backplate), which has generally worked well, but now that I'm adding an external flash I'm not sure its the ideal spot.

Wow no bites?

Clip it off on your dive buddy. :D

I bought rigid d-rings from Deep Sea Supply and threaded them on my waist webbing. They are easy to clip to and rigid so I can clip off with one hand. By clipping them to my waist it doesn't throw my trim way off either.

I clip mine to the right hand d ring at my shoulder, opposite of my dump valve. Not sure why I started there, but now it is comfortable..

Try posting in the photo section. I bet that you get a lot of suggestions.

I make almost entirely beach dives. I clip mine off to my right shoulder D-ring until I get past the surf and get my fins on. I then move it to my scooter D-ring and extend the lanyard so that I can hold the camera at my side under water while I surface swim.
