    It's hard to tell you a measurement without seeing you in your gear. In principle, what you're looking for is the shortest comfortable length that gives you a full range of motion with your reg in your mouth. If it's too short it will pull when you look to the left. You also don't want the hose sticking too far out over your shoulder or hanging down over the shoulder where it can snag stuff or interfere with your arm.
