So I got a chance to dive the MiFlex hoses tonight. As for my primary regulator, I don't really have anything to compare it to, as I don't have a hoseless second stage. (Yeah, just about *that* good.)
I also swapped out my pony's--

Okay, so as I was saying, I swapped out my pony's LP hose (a standard recreational short primary). With the original rubber hose, it was uncomfortable to left-sling the pony (as is my standard operating procedure), as the hose leaves the first stage going down (for proper hose stowage) and enters the second stage from the right (I use an AquaLung Titan). It's not exactly comfortable, and when I had a slung AL80, it was downright uncomfortable (I held the hose to lessen the strain). With the super-flexible MiFlex hose, it's a whole new ball game.
Anyway, with the new MiFlex hose, it was amazing. One of the instructors who was there saw my pony with the MiFlex hose and said he needs to get one to try out for his slung bottles. For slinging, I don't know that I'd ever want to dive with an old rubber hose again. I've never had too great a problem with my primary second stage's hose (perhaps because I have the tank mounted high enough to reach the valve, so there's less deflection), but for a slung pony, it's really all that.

What length hose did you use for your slung pony? I'm guessing the 36"?
Generally deco bottles use 40" reg hoses... I'm wondering if 36" is enough, because 48" seems like way too much.
XS Scuba MiFlex hoses have been somewhat of a hit. Thus far, most who have purchased them have provided rave reviews about this hose. The things most people say that are really different are 1) they are much lighter, 2) they cause less regulator pull than standard hoses, 3) they make for much easier regulator storage than traditional hoses, and 4) they look cool.

With the increased flexibility of the Miflex material, can you actually get some improved streamlining on a recreational set up by shortening the primary and drysuit hoses, or do you still need the full length to avoid hose-pull when the hoses are charged?

I swapped moonbasket's original hose for Folgers crystals... er, make that a MiFlex hose of identical length. She had considerable hose pull issues with the original hose, but she reported none whatsoever with the MiFlex hose. The MiFlex hose appeared to have considerable "slack". She could easily have used a significantly shorter hose and still been better off than with the original hose.
(It should be noted that if someone's diving with an integrated inflator/second stage, diving an even *shorter* primary hose could easily make it all the way to "Bad Idea". If you donate an octo, you can shorten your primary hose, and if you're in a long-hose configuration, you can obviously shorten your bungeed backup.)
I'll add to the positive reviews for these hoses. I'm really liking them more and more. The flexibility just makes the regulator set there with no pull at all. They are extremely comfortable. Everyone should at least put them on your primary.

my primary reg is a oceanic delta 4, and it has the swivel ball on my reg. to be more flexible in your mouth. Can you get these hoses with that connection? Thanks.
I don't think they're available with a swivel (as far as I know) and I would think that the extreme flexibility would render a swivel unnecessary. I have a swivel on my hose and under pressure it dosn't "swivel" unless I pull on it .. I think that when I get a Miflex hose I will do away with it ( I got it so I could route a longer primary hose under my arm)
I did get a chance to handle one and they are very flexable and very light
I have asked about if they are going to have a BC hose with the larger quick connect that an Air2 uses and they have no plans to make one

I don't think your need a swivel with these hoses. Most swivels have to be moved by hand when under pressure. These hoses are very flexible and would not move the swivel on there own.
