I was out diving this morn and had an OOA situation at 178.57 FTsw. The water temps were about 24 F and I think my regs frooze up. I didn't panic but I shed my weights and headed up doing the standard CSEA moves. Should I invest in a pony? If so what size? I will get my OW card next week.
Beginner divers should be cautioned about diving that deep so early on in their careers.
Check out this link for a demonstration of pre-dive planning and in-water skills you can work on in order to conduct deep dives safely.
I would get a 30 04 a 40 and sling it . I sling a 30 it give me more than enough air in an emergency and some for dive buddy if realy needed. I generaly stay above 130' . If you do go with a pony DO NOT CALCULATED THE AIR IN TO YOUR DIVE . that is a bad practice . good luch dive safe
