I'm trying to assemble the ultimate "You Will Die" kit. Obviously I can only buy products that are freely available on the market and of course I can't name any manufacturer. I know I could just go straight for a rebreather but sadly my funds are low. Also I could achieve my "Death" goal by diving far beyond my limitations but diving beyond them is stoopid and inherently dangerous and I would never attempt a dive for which I wasn't properly trained/experienced. My list so far..........

Any BCD. Wearing a BCD is one sure way to earn your wings

Split Fins. If unavailable any fins that are not free diving fins.
Mask with a valve. It’s just a porthole for the grim reaper

All suggestions welcome

you are going to need:

- wireless air integrated computer
- spring loaded retractors for your camera and dive light
- a long hose or a short hose...doesn't matter people use the "you're gonna die" argument both ways on that one
- BC inflator integrated backup regulator
- might as well get some 32% voodoo gas in your tank
- an OW certfication card from an all-inclusive vacation resort

Is it possible to get one of each ? just to cover my bases

Once you are kitted up, you are ready to die, er, I mean dive.

I think you should go with your first instinct and buy the rebreather. Just put it on the credit card since you will probably be dead before the bill comes due you will never have to pay for it anyway.

I've got a shorty with a front fastening zipper ! I know I'm dicing with death for the sake of mere convenience, but who wants to live forever anyway?

1. No buoyancy control device is needed. Wear the appropriate amount of weights for the target depth. Dive down by finning.
2. Secure the weight belt. Secure it well.
3. If you haven't used a drysuit, get one. Go deep on first dive.
4. Dry gloves. No. Dry mittens. The Viking latex mittens are good.

5. Gas? Air of course. At 150ft it helps you relax. Oxygen is another good choice.
6. You don't need an SPG as the breathing resistance will notify you.
7. Don't dive deeper than 50m/150ft without a SpareAir.

8. It is always good to carry a lot of loose stuff. A Kent Tooling steel reel (the bigger one) is nice for long surface swims.

Homemade or self-serviced anything. Let's see wing, backplate, harness with quick-release arm straps, lights, reels, camera tray, and of course self-maintained regulators. As you can see I'm well on my way to dying (or do I mean diving?) using the above gear.

How about spring clips-aka "suicide clips".

On a serious note some of the listed gear components are fine, if properly used, while others, not so much. But there is probably NO single piece of gear about which somebody hasn't said, at some point in time "you're gonna die".
