    D90 in a D80 housing

It seems that the D90 will fit in the #6808 housing and I have read reports that it will provide access to most of the important controls. Can you tell me a bit more about this as it could be a solution to the housing problem the day I decide to upgrade to the D90 (my pension would not allow me to invest in a new housing again). I realise that I would not be able to see the whole of the D90's display and would not have access to liveview (I could live happily without that) but would the housing allow access to the on/off switch, the main and subcommand dials, the ISO, menu and playback buttons and the focus area selector (multiselector)?

The D80 housing will allow access to the D90 functions you mentioned EXCEPT for the focus area selector (multi-selector). Playback, Menu, and ISO buttons are off-centered, but do work.
