On a recent trip to Indonesia I gave my dive buddy a Ikelite compact housing for the JVC Picsio camera. On the second last day I have the pins that hold the plastic latch shoot out and lost in the boat when I was closing the housing just before the dive.
I sent the housing back and Ikelite replaced the pins under warranty. But on a dive today I saw another divers with an Ikelite compact housing and they had the same thing happen to them.
Is this an ongoing issue? How many others out there had the same thing happen to them?
Wouldnt it be better to have the tried and proven Stainless latches that are on the DSLR's?
Honestly we haven't seen this a lot in comparison to our sales of ULTRAcompact style housings. However we did make a few design changes over the last 6 months which we expect to completely eliminate this issue.
