has anyone here ever been diving in lake toba, sumatra ( biggest vulcanic lake on earth) or has any informations about it..
thanks in advance..

I don't believe people dive there. As I recall, it's a sacred lake.

hey zippsy ,
yes you might be right, to the local batak people it is kind of sacred but they do swim in it .. some even quite far out from the samosiri island, so i dont think someone would be offend if people dove in it.
the last time i was there was ten years ago, i did not had a dive licens back than and so i havent thought about it .
but my question is more if anyone has done it and what he or she thinks about it?
there is no dive shop as far as i know and the closest tank filling station might be hours away on nias or medan.
due to its size and depths i could imagine it to be a quite intersting spot and there must be some intersting corners in this lake.
would be nice to have some ideas from other forum members .
