Business near Bali Feb 5-7 - looking for advice on fitting in a few dives
I'm in Singapore for the start of February and some colleagues are headed to Bali for a long weekend. They're more of the surfing types, but I'd love to fit in a few dives if possible. Can anyone recommend any good areas or dive ops for this time of year?
Hi Doublea, we are a diving centre and dive club based in Sanur (south Bali). We can happily arrange your diving for you. Where will you be staying in Bali??
Email me for more info on amanda@d-scubaclub.com and don't forget to mention that you are from ScubaBoard.
I'll be staying in Sanur - Any thoughts on what dive sites or area would be best this time of year? Given that I only have one full day, how is the night diving in Bali?
Re: dive sites. This would really depend on what you like to see; macro, pelagics, wrecks, drift diving etc etc. Bali diving has something for every diver with dive sites to suit all experience levels.
If you can drop me an email at the address mentioned above, telling me what level certification you are, when you last dived, and any other info that might be helpful, I can give you a quote for a diving day. Will you be diving alone?
To answer your other question: The night diving in Sanur is alright, plenty of things to see.
I will actually be there the next week and have the same questions as to what to expect and what to bring...... Also are what water temps are to be expected and will customs be expecting to collect any duties or taxes on my dive gear????
doublea, Contact AquaMarine Diving - Bali (website)and try to schedule a full day of diving including a night dive. Barbara should come back quickly with options for your day. info@aquamarinediving.com This is a shop with an excellent reputation and many options for diving in Bali.
T. Bix, customs shouldn't bother you for anything except maybe hassle you for a little money if you look vulnerable. If they do, ask for the supervisor. I've occasionally seen customs guys after someone who looks like they don't know what they are doing. Asking for the supervisor has always worked so far.
