Bali, Gili or Lombok -which one is better?

I like to see schools of fish and big stuff.

Thanks.

Smart a$$ answer- None of the above. Go to Komodo.

Normal answer- Depending on the time of year South Lombok's Belongas Bay can be pretty spectacular. These can be big time dives as the water can be huge. Do your research before heading that way. Probably the most consistent option is staying on Lembongan (12 km off Bali on the way to Lombok) and diving round there.

Or even better, spend a few days diving out of Padang Bai in Bali, transfer to Lembongan and dive around Nusa Penida, then transfer to the Gilis. I love all three areas as each are amazing in their own way.

Any good dive resorts in Komodo or Lembongan?
Thanks.

Highly recommend twofish divers on lembongan. World diving has good rep on lembongan also. Diving there good for mola and manta and v healthy coral and lots smaller fish. Gillis v average - bumphead parrotfish schools and a white tip the biggest I've seen there. Like the above smart ass answer lol komodo is probably best of all worlds lol!

Thanks, it seems twofish also has a good dive resort.

How is the water temperature around March to May?

I don't like cold water, probably won't go there in Aug/Sep to Mola Mola.

I hope to see manta, sharks, etc.

Komodo Dive Resort..on Sebayor (sp?) Island was great...but pricey.

Can only say Sept was hot and dry in Komodo...seas were calm and clear saw many mantas..Bali is great prior to Komodo imo, esp if first timer.
