Welcome to SB! No pushing or pulling here -- You should only get certified if you think diving's for you. Best way to figure that out is to learn more about it, ask lots of questions, think about your opportunities to put the training to use. Scubaboard's a great place for this!

Why not try a Discover diving course. This way you learn the basics and have an instructor guide you the entire way. If you are happy with diving you can then decide to do an openwater course. Take your time.
