My family and I just returned from a vacation in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico where I was able to log 8 dives, two of them night dives (a first for me)....ocean temp was approx.84-86 degrees Fah (29-30 Celsius)!! I have only previously done my diving in the Caribbean so I was very interested in seeing what differences in marine life there would be. Quite a lot actually. Also, I have NEVER done any dives in cold water and am interested in doing so. Lots of opportunity for that in the Guelph/Kitchener/Waterloo area, I'm sure. Anyone with info on the best/nearest dive shop to hook up with, please advise.

Welcome to SB! I love night dives. I've done mostly warm water diving and think I'll keep it that way. I can't even imagine wearing a dry suit or thick wetsuit. But then, I'm in Florida and you get spoiled!

Welcome to Scuba Board. I did my first night dive two weeks ago and ABSOLUTELY LOVED it.

People laugh at us cold water divers ... heck I laugh at myself! Sometimes wondering WHY? Then when your down on a wreck in Lake Superior you remember why!

I'm getting older and colder ... I used to burn up in a 7mm in 42 degree water. In a 5/4 in 44/43/42 degree water I was ok. But not anymore I freeze! I keep swearing with every dive in the Keys (3 to 5 times every year plus one nice trip a year) I'm not diving in cold water again!

I have to watch out for a good sale on a DUI dry. You might say you won't dive cold water anymore it sounds good you saying it, but oh well ......

welcome aboard
